Allegations of political parties against tableaux rejection : Defense Minister replies to the states
Excluding Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal in the list of tableaux selected to participate in this year's Republic Day Parade has took political color. And opposition leaders have alleged against the Center, claiming that the decision of the Center was malicious and political.

Today, Defense Minister Rajanath Singh has written letters to the Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and West Bengal in reply.
Defense Minister Rajanath Singh, in a letter to Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, said that Tamil Nadu's tableaux could not make it into to the final list of the 12 tableaux selected to participate in the Republic Day Parade.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has added in a letter to Tamil Nadu CM M.K.Stalin that, the selection process was fully transparent. In the last few years, the Tamil Nadu State Government has been selected to participate in the Republic Day celebrations in 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has written to Prime Minister Modi on the exclusion of Tamil Nadu's tableaux from the Republic Day Parade. CM Stalin, in a letter requesting the intervention of the Prime Minister to include the tableaux, said that his tableaux will feature Subramanya Bharati, VO Chidambaranar, Velu Nachiyar, Matu Pandiyar brothers and others.
Moreover, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also written to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee about the exclusion of the West Bengal state's tableaux for the Republic Day. In a letter to the minister, the defense minister reminded that "the West Bengal tableaux has been selected for the 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2021 Republicans."
